Working in sports is a very exciting job to have. Doing what you are passionate about while constantly being surrounded in a team-like environment is what I have always wanted for myself. Especially if you grew up an athlete. Working in sports is a great way to stay involved if you’re not playing any more. In this video, I show what it’s like being a corporate partnerships intern for the Indiana Pacers. Since I stopped playing basketball, this opportunity was surreal for me and I hope I can motivate you to chase your dreams and do what you’re passionate about as well.
Now, I don’t want to leave you hanging without some advice. If you are interested in working in sports, Teamworkonline.com and LinkedIn.com are great websites to start looking. I also suggest keeping up with teams social media (Linkedin, Instagram, Facebook) because they’ll post in person networking events which is a fantastic way to land a position. I actually know quite a few people that have gotten full time jobs this way. Connections will be your biggest friend, but don’t be discouraged. I knew absolutely no one before I started working in sports. It’s all about how you present yourself and being clear on your goals.
